We want people of all ages and backgrounds to feel welcome at St. John’s. Consequently, people from the congregation are involved in ministries that greet visitors and connect new and old members.

Greeter Ministry

Greeters welcome those who come to the cathedral for worship or other special events. They are able to give directions, offer information about ministries, assist with special needs, and pay attention to those who might be new to the Cathedral.

St. John's Java

This coffee stand is generally open on Sunday mornings. Volunteer baristas make lattes, Italian sodas, and other specialty drinks in order to offer warm hospitality members and newcomers. We use primarily organic and fair-trade products, further living into our faith and our commitment to care for all creation.

Coffee Hour

Every Sunday, after the 10:30 service, we gather in the Great Hall for refreshments. We believe that food and fellowship are important components of our congregational life. It not only helps members stay connected, but helps new people get connected with others. This ministry involves lots of people working behind the scenes, preparing and serving food.
