Youth ProgramsThe Kids' Place: Nursery and Child Care
Our “Kids' Place" on the south side of Jewett House, ground floor, is a nursery for infants and toddlers and a place where younger children are part of a Christ-centered program during worship services and other events. Qualified caregivers provide a safe, warm and loving environment for young children.
Christian Education Sunday Mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Jewett House:
Godly Play, Preschool-Grade 6
Children experience a Biblical story-telling based curriculum, including stories from the Hebrew Bible, the basis of our Judeo-Christian Heritage, stories of the birth and baptism of Jesus, the parables, stories of Jesus’ life and ministry, crucifixion and resurrection, and the lives of Jesus' disciples and their ministries. The children meet in multi-age classroom groups, 2-1/2 to 4-year-olds, kindergarten through second grade, and third through sixth grade.
Junior High Class
7th and 8th graders enjoy fellowship and formation lessons from the Journey to Adulthood program, which includes Bible study, prayer and playful activities, a liturgical context to experience modern culture, celebrates individuality and creative potential and skills for participation in the Church and society while discovering the love of God. They also learn about world religions and the heritage of the Anglican communion.
Choir Class
The children’s choir has its own church school class. During the first half of the hour they study the lesson for the day from the curriculum “Weaving God’s Promises” and the second is devoted to rehearsal of music for the liturgy. |
