New Open Hours are Monday - Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
A Short History of the Windfall Thrift Shop
In the 1960's the ladies of St. John's opened The Windfall in the little windmill building on south Perry Street. Over the years that building became too small and so The Windfall was moved to its present location at 1024 South Perry.
The ministry of the The Windfall was originally begun to provide low cost clothing, shoes, household items, books, and miscellaneous items to the residents of the South Perry / Grant neighborhood. These items are donated mostly by members of the parish although anyone is invited to donate. Today, with the quality merchandise and the fabulously low prices we find we cater to a wide range of customers, including students, deal shoppers, neighbors, immigrants, and even other thrift shops!!!
Think of The Windfall the next time you lose 20 lbs and need to clean out your closet. Stop by to have a look and watch for notices of our famous $5.00 bag sales!
We have two part time paid managers and the rest of the work is done by volunteers.
