Welcome Newcomers!"...extend hospitality to strangers ..."–Romans 12:13
Welcome to our beautiful cathedral
It is with heartfelt joy and thanksgiving that we welcome you to the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, a center of prayer and worship for all people in Spokane for over seventy-five years. We are a community of faithful Christians, seeking to discern and embody God’s Will for us both in the Church and in the world around us.
Newcomers to St. John's do not feel like newcomers very long; we are a warm, welcoming congregation, and we would love for you to get involved. St. John's Cathedral lives out its commitment to Christian community through prayer, study, and relationships.
Organized opportunities to experience St. John's community include social events, spirituality and fellowship groups for students and adults of all ages and walks of life, bible studies, and service to the Cathedral and the Spokane community.
We hold periodic Newcomer teas. Here you’ll have the opportunity to meet clergy, leaders of our congregation and other people new to the cathedral. We’ll tell you about some of the programs you may be interested in, especially programs to acquaint newcomers with our faith. Your questions will be answered and you’ll get tea & food. This could be a very pleasant first step for you at the cathedral. Interested? Click here.
If you want to find your place at the cathedral there are many options before you. Explore our website for those opportunities. And if you’re not ready to jump all the way in just yet, we understand. We’ll let you set your own pace.
